Businesses for sale in Valencia: Where to find them and how to assess opportunities

The market for buying and selling businesses in Valencia

The Valencian Community (Comunidad Valenciana) has a diverse and dynamic business landscape. With 372,121 active companies on 1 January 2025, according to the INE's Central Business Register (Directorio Central de Empresas, DIRCE) — most of them SMEs and micro-businesses — there is a constant flow of opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs looking to acquire a going concern.

But finding the right opportunity is not as simple as searching a website. The best opportunities are rarely advertised openly.

Where to look for businesses for sale

1. Open listing websites

There are platforms where traspasos (transfers of a business lease and its assets) and business sales are advertised. They are a good starting point for understanding the market, but they have limitations:

  • The most attractive businesses are usually sold before they reach a listing website.
  • The information published is limited and often unreliable.
  • There is no quality filter — anyone can post a listing.

2. Personal network

Word of mouth is still one of the most effective channels in the Valencian Community. Talking to gestores (accountants and tax advisers), tax consultants, lawyers and other business owners can reveal opportunities that are not on any website.

3. Private marketplace and confidential intermediation

This is the route we recommend for serious transactions. Alcara Partners is a private marketplace for buying and selling businesses in the Valencian Community, not a listings portal: each opportunity is presented anonymously, and the full details are only shared with interested buyers once we know their profile and they have signed a confidentiality agreement.

The advantage is clear: you can review each opportunity in its anonymous form before asking for the full details.

How to assess an opportunity

When you find a business that interests you, these are the essential steps:

Financial due diligence

Review the accounts for the last 2-3 financial years. Look for:

  • Turnover trend: Growing, stable or falling?
  • Margins: Are they healthy for the sector?
  • Customer dependency: Is there a concentration of risk?
  • Outstanding debts and commitments.

Operational due diligence

  • How many employees does it have and how long have they been with the business?
  • Are processes documented, or does everything depend on the owner?
  • What condition are the assets in (machinery, vehicles, premises)?

Valuation

Do not pay whatever the seller asks without checking it against market data. Use our free valuation tool as a reference and, for significant transactions, get a professional valuation.

Sectors with the most opportunities in 2026

These are some of the sectors that tend to offer opportunities:

  • Technical services and installation businesses: Many owners close to retirement. High demand, good margins.
  • Manufacturing: The ceramics cluster in Castellón and the furniture industry in Valencia offer consolidation opportunities.
  • Professional services: Gestorías (administrative and tax services firms) and consultancies with stable client portfolios.
  • Distribution: Established routes and contracts throughout the Valencian Community.

Take the first step

If you are looking to buy a business in the Valencian Community, register as a buyer and tell us what kind of business you are interested in. We will keep you informed of opportunities that match your profile.

Fully confidential. Fully professional.
